Meet Bitty and Beau!

Bitty and Beau are the children of Amy and Ben Wright, who decided to open a coffee shop named after their children. Bitty and Beau's Coffee opened in January 2016 with 19 employees presenting with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The original coffee shop was housed in a 500 square foot space in the port city of Wilmington, North Carolina. As of today, Bitty and Beau's coffee shop has increased its employees from 19 to 40, and enlarged its work space from 500 to 5,000 square feet within a 2-year span of time. Bitty and Beau's coffee shop really is meant to invest in the lives of its employees, as well as break down barriers between the greater community and those with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they "create a culture where diversity is not just appreciated, but celebrated.". Learn more about the great strides being taken by Bitty and Beau's Coffee shop as they pioneer the way for reducing the employment gap for those with an intellectual and developmental disability.
